Cottage Accommodation

The retirement village consists of 173 cottages comprising a selection of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms Cottages each with an attached single or double garage. All cottages have covered verandas fronting onto a private garden, which can be fenced.

The layout of the retirement village is planned around a central main road with side roads branching into separate Closes. Each close comprising 8 to 11 cottages.

Qualifications for Residence in Peers Village

To qualify as a resident in Peers Village one must be at least 65 years of age, although one’s current spouse can be younger. Peers Village has no upper age limit; however the resident must be able to live independently to benefit from the lifestyle the retirement village offers.

The Club House comprises the administration office, a lounge, dining room, a well stocked library and a small function room. Post is delivered and retrievable from individual post boxes in the foyer.

There is a solar heated swimming pool in the garden area in front of the Club House for the use of residents and their guests.

> Braais and special functions are arranged on a regular basis.

Midday meals are served in the dining room and in addition to the Levy, you are required to purchase 8 meals, per person, per cottage, per month. Meals can be delivered to those who cannot come to the dining room. Evening meals are arranged from time to time. Guests are welcome.

Since the first residents moved into the Village in November 1997 it has been most encouraging to see how many activities have been started by and for the residents. These include the following:

We take security very serious and our elderly are safe

Peers Village Security

This has been a top priority. The retirement village has only one entrance situated off Genoa Avenue. All visitors report to Security at the village entrance and are permitted access only if their visit is approved by a resident or a member of the village staff through the use of the internal telephone system. The entire external perimeter has an electrified alarmed security fence and is patrolled regularly by the security staff. In addition to the electrified fence, the Village, has installed and commissioned on the 18th June 2018, Thermal Imaging Cameras which are monitored by the security Staff. The whole system is protected against general power cuts and load shedding with UPS technology.

No canvassing is permitted!

Peer Village allows pets, subject to regulations and approvals

Pets are Permitted at Peers Village

Residents are welcome to bring their pets with them when they come to live at Peers Village.  However there is a limit of 2 small domestic pets to each cottage.
